Jacki James is a Financial Controller for First Names Group in Guernsey. Jacki's finance role requires her to collate, analyse and present relevant business performance information. Jacki has a keen eye for order and structure. She is unflappable, and happy to be taken out of her comfort zone – ready to give whatever it takes to get the job completed to her high standards.
The harder you work the luckier you get.
Jacki has always been fascinated with numbers but started her career as a psychiatric nurse in Scotland. Having arrived in Guernsey to take up a position in nursing in 1995, she fell in love with the island and its people – and stayed. Broadening her opportunities, Jacki switched direction and worked as a trainee accountant whilst simultaneously starting a family and studying. She is now a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
IN THREE WORDS:
Unassuming but sensible, Jacki tries her utmost to help her colleagues whilst also diligently delivering her own work. She really appreciates the proactive, hands-on approach of Therese Savident, who has such a lot of information at her fingertips and is always willing and able to get stuck in. She also has great admiration for Sharon McMillan because she is a fantastic role model and coach, but equally good at providing light-hearted fun.
Jacki is grateful for what she has and enjoys life. She tries to keep her weekends simple and uses the time to catch up with friends. Her two teenage daughters persuaded her to adopt Sid, the rescue dog, a springer cross collie who has found his way to her heart. He is always the first in the car on trips to their holiday home in France and he doesn’t seem to notice that it’s a bit of a renovation project.
