David Wild is First Names Group’s Chief Risk Officer. He is primarily responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and ongoing operation of an efficient and effective Group risk management framework, ensuring a consistent approach to risk across the business.
With over 20 years in the industry, David is a highly experienced, skilled and knowledgeable professional with a proven track record of leading and delivering change across large and complex international financial services groups. Before joining First Names Group he held the title of Director and Head of Fiduciary Risk Management at a major international bank.

Having originally read Modern Languages at Worcester College, Oxford, David went on to train as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen. After qualifying in 1996 he continued to build up a strong technical knowledge of key regulatory and legislative matters affecting the offshore financial services industry. Specialising in regulatory and risk consulting, David was seconded for 15 months to the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) in 1998, where he worked closely with the then Director General, Commission Executive and Board of Commissioners. Since then he has risen quickly through the ranks, with senior positions including Director of Assurance and Advisory Services for one of the ‘Big 4’ audit firms and Technical Director of Jersey Finance. He also has extensive Key Person and Principal Person experience under JFSC regulatory regimes.

Above all else, David strives to live life to the full and appreciate every moment – big or small. He enjoys golf, tennis, walking, gardening and family time and his ambitions range from seeing his two girls grow up healthy, happy and safe, to road tripping across New Zealand, completing the Tour de Mont Blanc and seeing the Northern Lights.
