Adam Garwood is a Client Services Director for First Names Group based in Jersey. He has a clarity of vision that comes with being a recognised authority in his field. Acknowledged in 2012 Citywealth Leaders’ Honours List as a leading trustee, Adam is also frequently asked to present at high profile industry conferences. Clients rely on Adam to find the most secure financial structures and he never lets them down. His philosophy is “no one cares how much you know until they know you care”. Effective listening skills are a key element in his role, which focuses on business development.

With over 25 years’ experience in the trust industry, particularly in the implementation and administration of complex global structures, Adam has established relationships that spread to all four corners of the globe. He qualified with the Institute of Financial Services and has a diploma in Trust and Estate Practice. Prior to joining Seymour Trust in 2010 (which was acquired by the Group in 2014), Adam sharpened his professional talent by managing the interests of high net worth clients worldwide and running the Far East and non-domicile desks for a Big Four auditing company.

Adam has noticeable positive energy, which he puts to good use, thriving on the variety of his daily tasks. One thing remains constant however – calm and helpful, he is a trusted sounding board to colleagues and clients alike. Adam likes working with Andrew de la Haye, whose technical confidence is inspiring and Tim Gavey who has the ability to see the wood from the trees!

Practice makes perfect but some musical talent is clearly rooted in the genes, so it is no surprise that Adam plays the guitar. Ambitious by nature, he aspires to complete his pilot’s license without compromising quality time with his wife and two girls who keep him on his toes!  Having represented Jersey in numerous sports, including hockey and badminton, he now plays golf and has qualified as a PADI open water diver.
